Protest against Dumping Garbage

Peaceful protests by the East Indians against the Grabage dump met with stiif resistance from the police who resorted to lathi charge and firing tear gas, thereby injuring many people (including women), priests and nuns.

The police personnel have do their duties which is entrusted by the government authorities over them.
Peaceful protest or an agitation, we won't be successfull in stoping the dumping if our community local politician do not support this moment.

Now a days we are just a minority in our own home land the outsiders are ruling they have their houses in their villages and here they come and start their buisness because of their money and political power
Outsiders are comming to our lands because we have sold our properties to the outsiders. We need to blame ourselves only.
Can the EI community come together and create a forum whereby if an EI wants to sell his property he should first offer it for sale to another EI first.

Frankly speaking its a very good idea, however it will not work, naturally he or she will give the property to the highest bidder.
However forming the forum will be a very very difficult task as every land/property owner will have to register. For ex. if I am having my property I will never register because I will indirectly will be bonded by the forum.
Best is fight the competition, instead of lying low in our houses come out work hard as others do and face the competition and as far as possible don't sell our property.

quite agree with you -
(1) we should not sell our properties
(2) or if we need to sell, then give first option to anoth EI. this was it will stay with us only.

WHEN SUCH A BIG PROJECT CAME UP --- DID IT COME UP OVER NIGHT ? WHERE WAS EVERYBODY ? NOW WHEN ITS BUILT AND COME UP - THEN THE PROTESTS START , ITS VERY IRONICAL !
Sorry I did not catch your name (drmyrts). We agree we had been sleeping or may be not aware of the consequencies. However one question do you approve your neighbour throwing garbage in your backward. Abousely the answer should be no. Then is not our protest justified.

Hi Doctor - I am regular visitor to Gorai since I have a house there.
Garbage is all over Mumbai even in our main city. Would it be adviseable to have the plant in Mumbai City we will have all its benefits as advised by you.
Ideally the Garbage should be in a remote location and not in a populated area such as Gorai. Just try to immagine the foul smell and the atmostphere.
We have a problem, we have to have a solution but not at somebody else's mercy.
Wickiam, do not agree with your very pessimistic view. Depending on the local politician will not help. if the guys who organised/participated in the protest continue in this same vigour, they will win. It will be very easy for the authorities to manipulate a Politician . Infact he himself would love to be wooed by the govt..
