SEZ Protest

WE have been fighting against the implementation of SEZ. Everyone should be a part of this agitation by protesting in their own way. As we know, the main party to this is the Essel group. We urge you to :
  1. Stop viewing ZEE network channels
  2. Stop going to Essel world
  3. Participate in various candlelight and other protests held by the Dharavi Beth (island) Bachav Samiti’ (DBBS) and organisations that are supporting it like the Bombay East Indian Association, the Catholic Sabha and various other organisations.

Ensure Maximum EI participation

An East Indian calendar has been setup online. Anyone having a Singing Competition or Food Feastival is welcome to write in to admin@east-indians.com with the date, venue, time and other details. This will help to avoid overlapping dates and ensure that all the East Indians can attend most event, without having to choose one function over another. This calendar also has the option to write in your comments of that particular function or event.

Mee East-Indian

The East Indians of Bombay are the true original inhabitants of Bombay (Mumbai).  Where are their villages ?  Their mother tongue is  Marathi. They have been deprived, cheated, and taken for granted over many year. Many have benefited from them. Governments have never paid much heed to them. Many feel that OBC status,  can help them.Today have come together as one, fighting for a common cause, their right to survive in their own land, to follow their customs and traditions as they have been following for generations.

Read about the East Indian culture, cuisine, folklore, songs...etc, It is indeed very sad that such a rich culture is at a risk of being lost forever. By ignoring and not caring about the original people, who have lived on the islands of Bombay, the island of Salsette, Chaul and Thana for Centuries, the current governemts are ignoring the very backbone that has made Bombay what it is today.
