            GARAJ (Gauthans Active Residents Association of Juhu) was established on 9th October 2002 with an objective of fulfilling Civic, Social and Charitable needs. GARAJ is based in the Juhu Gauthans which is a Village consisting of three parts – Kandal, Agarwadi and Gauthan No.2. GARAJ is a registered trust under Bombay Public Trust Act, Registration No.E-24258. We have initiated many activities and our biggest initiative till date is the SOUP(Street Orphan Underprivileged Project) 4 Kids wherein we strive to fulfill the basic needs- education, food and medicine of underprivileged children. We serve meals everyday to 10 street children.

 

            At a special meeting held on 26th January 2008 we decided to organize the first ever Juhu Village festival. The Juhu Festival Organising Committee have proposed the following activities to be included as a part of Juhu Village Fest 2008 like Shopping Fiesta, May Raffle, Sand Art Competition, Carrom Tournament, Drawing Competition, Cooking Competition, Food Festival and Villagers Carnival. The Juhu Village Fest 2008 will be celebrated between 1st May to 15th May 2008 with the liner – Great Fun, Great Offers, Great Experience. The theme of the festival is “Village Culture and Traditions in the midst of Modernisation”.

 

            We welcome you to sponsor the festival and the rates of sponsorship are as follows :-

Main Sponsor (Rs.50,000/-) The sponsors name will appear along with the festival name i.e: GARAJ Juhu Village Fest 2008. Sponsors name will appear on banners, posters and other promotions run from time to time. The Main Sponsor will also be given the special strip ad on the Festival Pamphlet.

Co-Sponsors(Rs.10,000/-) Sponsors name will appear on banners, posters and other promotions. The Co-Sponsor will also be given the special box ad on the Festival Pamphlet.

Other Sponsors(Rs.5,000/-) Sponsors name will appear on banners, posters and other promotions.The Sponsors will also be given a box  ad on the Festival Pamphlet.

Banner/Poster Sponsors(Rs.100 per sq.ft.)  You may sponsor our festival banners with festival details and pictures on Village culture and tradition

Kind Sponsors – We have numerous needs in kind for the activities we have proposed to organize. The details of the materials are mentioned in the detailed Activity page. You can also sponsor merchandise in the form of T-Shirts, caps, give aways,etc.

 

            We will also be distributing 10,000 copies of the festival Special Pamphlet. The advertisement rates for the Festival Special Pamphlet are as follows :-

Special Strip Ad            - Rs.5,000/- (5cms * 21cms)     

Special Box Ad             - Rs.1500/- (5cms * 5cms on either side of Festival title)

Long Ads                      - Rs.1200/- (5cms*9cms horizontal Ad or 10cms*4.5 cms Vertical Ad)

Other Box Ads             - Rs.600/- (5cms*4.5 cms)         Mini Ads - Rs.350/- (5cms*2.15 cms)

 

As the festival arrives there will be many promotions in the form of Special Festival Pamphlets distribution, Banners at prominent locations, press releases and more. PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR THE JUHU VILLAGE FEST 2008

 

Carrom Tournament   - Proposed date – 11/05/08                    Sponsor cost – Rs.2500

It will be a knock out one-gamer with a target of 32 participants irrespective of their age. Prizes will be given to the first and second rankers.

 

Sand Art Competition Date : Thursday 1st May 2008, Venue: Juhu Beach, Near Holiday Inn

This is the 3rd consecutive time this competition is being organised by Wangs Tailors in memory of Late Wallace Pereira. Here children can participating in carving their sandcarvings. Prizes will be given to the first and second best sand carving. For sponsorship please call Renuka on 26244951/9867489389.

 

Drawing Competition Proposed date :11/05/08                         Sponsor cost – Rs.2500

Here children under the age of 14 years can participate and draw anything that comes to mind about a village. Prizes will be given to the first and second best drawing.

 

Shopping Fiesta                      Date 1st to 15th May 2008         

Areas covered – Juhu Village and its Vicinity                                 Sponsor – Special Pamphlet

Here various business establishments, shops and showrooms will be invited to release their offers and discounts during this 15 day festival. All businesses around Juhu Village will be invited to participate. Shops will have indicators at their entrances informing about their participation. The businesses can also advertise in our special Festival pamphlet to inform the residents about their offers. All business establishments interested need to confirm their participation by giving us info on their offers.

 

Cooking Competition             Date :11/05/08                           Sponsor cost – Rs.2500

Here Village residents will be invited to participate with their foodstuff. Prizes will be given to the first and second best dish.

 

Villagers Carnival       Date :4/05/08    Time : 10:30am              Sponsor cost – Rs.15000

Route-Tulip Star Hotel-St.Joseph’s Church Rd-A.B.Nair Rd-Alfred Creado Rd-JVPD Rd

This will be the spotlight of the Juhu Village Fest 2008. The objective here is to create awareness about Village Culture and Tradition in the midst of Modernisation. The procession will consist of bullock carts, traditional band, children in fancy dress, Ladies in traditional lugras, men in traditional Kashti, Free distribution of Varas all along the way, Youngsters on bikes and children on bicycles. The Villagers carnival will also portray Various things which are used by Villagers. You can sponsor your banners for Rs.2000 per banner. Sponsorships for balloons are also welcome. Sponsorships are also invited for requirements like costumes, generator, truck/bullock cart hire charges, refreshments. You may also sponsor merchandise like T-shirts, caps for carnival participants.

 

Food Festival  To be finalised                                                   Sponsor cost – Rs.30,000/-

The food festival will have a combination of all types of cuisine – Chinese, Indian, Punjabi with special focus on east Indian Cusiine. The Food festival is still to be finalised considering the costs involved. You can display banners on stage and at the venue – Stage – Rs.5000, venue – Rs.2000.

 

GARAJ May Raffle 2008       Date :1/05/08    Venue : Wangs Tailors Draw at :10am

The Raffle tickets are being sold at Rs.100 per ticket. The first prize is a Hero Honda Bike and there are 9 more exciting prizes. The tickets are available with all leading stores and our co-ordinators. You canalso buy a booklet for Rs.1000/- each.

 

Village Exhibition                                                                   Sponsor cost – Rs.2500

The Village exhibiton will be held at one of the entrances of Juhu Village. The exhibition will be open to all residents with displays of Village information, articles and photographs.

 

Donations are also welcome. All excess income earned will be used for the SOUP(Street Orphan Underprivileged Project) 4 Kidz and GDP(Gauthan Dream Project). For more information you may call 9820545302. Sponsorships/Donations may be done by cash or by CHeque favouring “GARAJ”.
